Open day(s)

Thanks to all my friends and particularly ex students who came to support and encourage me on Tuesday and  Wednesday .. it was great to see and hear total strangers conversing in English with a cup of tea in their hands.
So just to confirm that there are 3 conversation groups starting on Tuesday , Wednesday and Thursday eve, from october 4th with a few limited places left ...... so sign up now !

The first very important lesson to be learnt is that "SURNAME" means "NOM DE FAMILLE", "Prénom" se dit "Name" et "surnom"  se dit " nickname" (mais je ne me permettrais pas de rentrer de votre intimité si tôt)...
Donc venez remplir les fiches d'inscription
So .. TOMORROW saturday 24th of Sept , come along again to the cellar  to see an art exhibition which is part of the journées des artistes .. and don't worry, the cosy British decor will be back as of Monday ...

ps The puzzle mystery has not yet been solved ! here are a few photos of the "Open House"

Don't forget tomorrow and wednesday

Don't forget tomorrow and wednesday!...
I look forward to seeing you in my parlour!... (Origin of the word parlour: the place where people speak. So here we have the first evidence of the presence of William the Conqueror illustrated in our beautiful language!...)
Tea and biscuits will be served....

Open House 'Portes Ouvertes' @ the Cellar

Just to tell you, or remind you, that there is an " open house"  ( journées portes ouvertes ) next Tuesday ( mardi pas jeudi ;) and Wednesday from 11am to 3pm and from 4pm to 8 pm... Please come to see the Cellar with its cosy atmosphere of old England.

Bring your friends! I'm sure they need to speak English too!

I will be there to welcome you all  with Tea and typically English Chocolate digestive Biscuits brought over especially from England last weekend for you !
I  will of course tell you about the different classes on offer and tell you more about the “theme nights” you can come to.

You may even have suggestions of your own…

To finish, you can help put the final personal touch to the British decor by helping solve an Agatha Christie Mystery! .. Something has disappeared ... it needs to be found ;.
Here is a  clue  (indice).. :

There are a thousand possibilities ....

I look forward to seeing you .. and even if your English is perfect and you don’t need  to improve it,  you are of course very welcome for the tea and biscuits!...

“Take Time For English at the ABC Cellar…”

Ainsi commence votre voyage en Angleterre…

Now that the “Rentrée” : “ Back to school Time” is over, it’s time to make good resolutions for yourselves..!

I am very happy to announce that the “ABC Cellar” is opening its doors soon to welcome those of you who really want to SPEAK, learn and to make rapid progress in English at last in small groups or individually …

Forget the old French system behind desks and endless written grammar rules ; come and progress in confidence and style in a cosy British atmosphere... Lots of different formulas are here to suit your needs, from “false beginners” to “advanced” conversation classes, intensive courses, TOEIC and interview preparation.

There will also be “Theme evenings”, Quiz nights, English music, British product tasting, travel ideas and special events…

Come and visit the “ABC Cellar” , in the pretty Passage de la petite Horloge, near the Hotel de Ville, just behind ABC BOOKSHOP, 11 Rue des Faulx.. (the Only English Bookshop in Rouen)
“OPEN HOUSE” is Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st September from 11 to 3pm and 4 to 8pm.

Sign up, for day or evening sessions, or send a mail with your questions… preferably in English, of course!

Look forward to seeing you soon,

Pascale Greene.
