 To those Gentlemen and ladies   who supported me on my first "CANCER RACE" QUIZ Night .  I'm happy to say  I  have raised 150 euros  so far  all for research into cancer ...
 It was a great evening ..  fun , laughter and English Knowledge ! Thank you !

 I will be up tomorrow morning to start my day with my 5km walk as usual and try to break my record  ..

Film selection and Cancer quiz nights

  The ABC   " This is ENGLAND" Film selection evenings are coming to a close , with choices to be made  very soon . Two or Three films stand out as fitting the ABC member selection category . A final showing we be held shortly to make a  definitive choice .

 There are still a few places for the ABC  quiz nights end of  27th May and 2nd  june before my cancer

Cancer Race for Life ...

 On 7th June this year I hope to be fit enough to be Racing for  ( my ) life  with other ladies along the banks of the Thames in Richmond Park , the Deer Park of Surrey , England close to my home town where I used to walk on Sunday mornings with my parents.  Its a 5km  fast walk/ run  and I will be collecting sponsors starting with  the return of an ever popular QUIZ NIGHT at the Abc  Cellar on Wednesday 27th May  at 8pm  and Tuesday 2nd June at 8pm

  Tickets are 10 Euros and ALL the money will go to   UK CANCER RESEARCH .
 2 Hours of Non stop English for a good cause .

 Refreshments offered .

  I was greatly supported by all ABC Cellar members this year after losing my English dad to Cancer and have  decided to change my lifestyle,  eat better , drink more water  and take up regular sport...
 This Race is for Women and Breast Cancer research  , but men can come to the Games Night of course or sponsor me in support.
  

 What better way to set myself yet another challenge on the road to better health and  to help us all to fight cancer by having fun at the ABC Cellar together .

"This is England" continues

Many  Thanks to all who have participated in the film nights judging  films for the for the
 "This is England"  Festival , the last evening will be on Wednesday the 6th of May after the long weekend away when  our final choice should be made for the film to which ABC Cellar will award its prize in November...

Where is Brian ???

                Next  Friday at the MDU  at 8pm

 ( Maison de l'Universite  ) the  English theatre troupe 

 " Still Kidding" will  perform a stage version of the Monty Python Classic " The life of Brian ". Tickets are 5 euros . 

 Like all their shows it should be  very good  and funny ..  so join me and  my friends  there  to look for  Brian ...

Another film session this week ..

   Due to popular demand and the vast quantity of films to see, another film showing evening will be held this Tuesday 14th April from 6.30 pm  for ABC members to continue  judging the films for the  next THIS IS ENGLAND film festival . This is England ...

   GREAT NEWS  ! This year the ABC Cellar has become an official sponsor and will be part of the jury for the "THIS IS ENGLAND " short film festival held in November at the OMNIA  .. So far four programmes of short films have been planned for ABC members to  see,  talk about  and select  between now and May .. A  cash prize will be awarded for the best film selected by the ABC Students .. So another original way to progress in English  and have a cosy , relaxed time with friends  ..

Music evening Cancelled ..

 Im sorry to say that this evening has been cancelled . but will be replaced later in the year with a similar evening with another pianist ... date to be confirmed soon...

Theme evenings will resume in April with  the ever popular Games Night .. and other great nights to come ..

TO ALL ... I hope your year will be healthy .. full of Friendly learning moments ... and of course  entertaining ones , the Burns Night will be taking bookings this week for Thursday 22nd january .. and on MARCH 18TH ... I will be 50 the big " 5 0" and more importantly there will be a great ABC Theme eve of "  Famous Film Music "  on that night  with hits played by Frederic on the piano

and sung by Kate lepage and Elizabeth Godefroid .. what better way to spend a birthday !
